If rounds have been previously exported from STOPECALCTM or created in another format, they can be imported directly.  Importing may be useful if it is decided to create a new project from a portion of the original one, or if the rounds are created by digitized polygons in a mine package such as Micromine.  With importing, new round records can be created and existing records can be updated.

The procedure for importing rounds follows the same procedure as importing faces.  It is important to have a clean csv with the field names in the first row.  RoundId and and at least one other field must be mapped, otherwise an error will be generated. As for faces, only those fields mapped will overwrite existing data in the database, thus imports can be repeated for the same records as new information is generated outside the STOPECALCTM program.  In many cases; e.g., in less graphics-oriented mines, round information will be generated inside the software and imports of round information may be rare.

As for faces, imported rounds with invalid non-key fields may be imported without errors, but the invalid entries will be blank.  Examples include invalid date formats and Destinations that don't exist in the Project Setup.  Be sure to check imported records for blank fields that may indicate an import error of this type.

NOTE: Import date formats from user-generated csv files must be compatible with STOPECALCTM Regional Preferences!  Please be sure to review the discussion on date formatting in that section of this Help documentation.
