Getting data in and out of STOPECALCTM is simple and flexible, making the software usable for primary sample data collector and storage, or an add-on to an existing mine sample database.   All importing and exporting is done from the Import tab on one screen.  Only the administrator-level user can export data.  Administrators and Users can import data.

STOPECALCTM  uses database field mapping to eliminate, or minimize input file formatting.   Importing can also be done selectively to update an existing project with new, or changed information without impacting the other existing information for each record.

Validation is done on import files to flag any duplicated key fields, generating an error message.  Watch the screen for the progress bar during import.  If it shows completion the import was successful with respect to the key fields at least.  However, other errors in non-key fields may not be flagged during import.   For example, records with incompatible non-key fields (e.g., incorrect date format) may import, but these fields will be blank if they are incorrectly formatted.  If import errors are received, the user should correct the problem(s) noted first, and then re-import until no errors are reported.  To do this, a portion of the data that was corrected may optionally be imported, or the entire file re-imported.  After importing, make sure to check the records imported.

Exports dump each STOPECALCTM table (Header, Intervals, Photos, and Rounds) to individual csv-format files that can be opened directly in EXCEL or saved to disk.  All of the information necessary to exactly replicate the current state of the database is exported in each case, with the exception of photos which are simply the file name and default status of each photo associated to Face #.

NOTE: Import date formats from user-generated csv files must be compatible with STOPECALCTM Regional Preferences!  Please be sure to review the discussion on date formatting in that section of this Help documentation.
